Colorectal Cancer

The Back Story

In November 2020 I went to my GP with a pain in the perineum (the space between the anus and scrotum) as it throbbed at night after I went to the toilet.  The doctor did a number of tests and found no cause for it.  He suggested I continue self medicating with Panadol with any infection sorting itself out over time.

In January 2021 it hadn't sorted itself out, in fact the pain had spread to my right buttock so I went back to my GP.  He did another battery of tests (pretty much the same ones as in November) and also sent me for a CT scan.  The results of the scan showed no real cause with the exception of a small inflammation just inside of my anus on the right side.  He then did a rectal examination and found a hard lump where the inflammation was.  He then referred me to a Colorectal Surgeon for further examination.

In February 2021 I underwent a colonoscopy and the results showed I had another Squamous Cell Carcinoma 2cm inside my anus.  I have been referred to an Oncologist so I will update in the coming days.
